PRESS RELEASE: Ty Robinson Joins Faiā Advisory Board

As Faiā aims towards "transcendence", and as luck would have it, we are privileged to be blessed with another stellar professional, Ty Robinson, as our Advisory board member. He will join Steve Barnes in guiding the company to greater things.

Ty has worked in the computer animation and video game industries for over 20 years. He worked for such companies as Sun Microsystems, Lucas Arts Entertainment, and Konami Computer Entertainment, among others. Ty has shipped highly successful titles such as Star Wars Star Fighter, Dance Dance Revolution, TMNT and ESPN Extreme Skateboarding, for a variety of platforms, including PC, XBOX, PS2, XBOX 360 and the Nintendo GBA/DS. In 2006 while at Aloha Island Inc., he produced two educational games for the Nintendo DS platform. These games proved not only that games were a viable educational tool, but that education and entertainment could be successfully combined to make a viable product.

Ty also ran his own development company, 808 Interactive, which specialized in online game development for the Asia region, serving clients such as Sanrio and Outblaze. 808 Interactive primarily specialized in Software Engineering services and worked on a variety of titles including large MMO’s.

He has also been instrumental with several startups and companies in a variety of industries from HR outsourcing, employee benefits, and even a film production company.

Currently, Ty is now focused on consulting for a VR company called Immersive Worlds, as well as helping to launch Clippy, a product focused on the cellphone space.

Graduating from Academy of Art University in San Francisco CA, with an emphasis on Computer Animation and Film, and holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool in the UK, he has surely come a long way and we are so happy that he is now part of our growth.

We rounded up some questions for you to get to know

Ty a bit better:

What ultimately led you to decide to be part of Faiā's advisory board?

"I love working with good people firstly, and smart, talented, driven people secondarily. George is all of those things so when he asked, I was "in"!"

Listen to Ty & George in a podcast episode here.

What are you most passionate about?

"I love creating things that bring value to the world. Sometimes its art, sometimes its business, sometimes business is art. These days it's more of a blend, but the core is making the world a better place and a big part of that is changing the way we see the world, collectively and individually.

What's something most people might not know about you?

"I have an intense interest in paradigms/world-views and how the mind, body and spirit can dictate our thoughts, actions and results."

What would you like to see more of in the world over the next decade (2020-2030)?

"The return of the renaissance man/woman and the return of the romantic. Elon Musk is a good start, but I think the world needs more of these people, and we all can be them in our own way."
